Before my current PhD candidature, I worked for the Honourable Minister of Education as his Executive Personal Officer for several years, engaging primarily with the administrative aspects of the education industry including logistics, diplomatic and international relations, policies and finance working alongside and learning from talented and creative individuals. Handling official documents, proposals and white papers analytically as well as visiting schools and institutions all over the world have inspired me to become a researcher and contribute new knowledge.
As a PhD candidate, I currently teach two postgraduate Masters modules and supervise several postgraduate Masters students. In my previous teaching career, I have worked with secondary (K7-K11) students for 6 years, mature students for 1 year, elementary students (K6) for 1 year and have worked with vulnerable and justice-involved youths. I am also an online private tutor under Superprof.
My research interests are in online learning, emerging technologies, gamification, robotics, artificial intelligences and law (communications and intellectual property). I prescribe to the works of Pierre Bourdieu, Etienne Wenger and Louis Wacquant. I am available for consultations pertaining to educational technology.
